Software as Art: Crafting Apps in the Age of AI
Like art, great products are made of lived human experience, strong opinions, and all the decisions along the way. AI tools are increasingly shaping the way we do design, engineering, testing, and everything in between. They can help accelerate many manual tasks. But what if you truly care about quality, user experience, and the art of storytelling in software?
In this talk, we will explore the novel challenges AI tools present for designing a quality app. We’ll discuss our evolving role as engineers and technical leaders, why craft still matters, and how we can prevent our ideas from turning into slop.
Whether you are an engineer working on a Swift codebase, a product manager, or a technical leader, you will leave with practical techniques to help you focus on what really matters: delivering delightful apps and experiences to your users.
Crafting Fluid Animations Across Apple Platforms
Great motion design doesn’t just make an app look good. It guides users, provides contextual feedback, and turns your product into a memorable experience.
In this talk, we’ll explore the fundamental principles of effective motion design and how you can apply them to your apps. We’ll peek under the hood of animations, learn why they sometimes don't do what you’d expect, and how to use the framework to precisely express your intent. We’ll also explore how Swift’s powerful language features let you push the boundaries of what’s possible. Whether you're fixing a janky transition or building delightful interactions from scratch, you’ll leave equipped with new tools and a deeper understanding of animation craft in Swift.
