It’s easy enough to grab a user's coordinates, but keeping location tracking alive in the background without iOS silently killing your app is a completely different story. After spending a lot of time building high-frequency tracking apps for large logistics fleets, I learned the hard way that basic GPS polling just drains the battery, overheats the phone, and triggers the system watchdog. In this talk, I want to share how to stop fighting the operating system and actually build location services that survive out in the real world.
