Build Once, Watch Everywhere

Workshop

In this hands-on session, we'll show you how to build a React Native app for TVs. You'll learn how to share a single codebase across Vega OS, Android TV, Web, and Apple TV, then layer in platform-specific dependencies for Fire TV to optimize for the Amazon Appstore, which reaches hundreds of millions of devices.

We'll also share starter samples with the essentials built in: D-pad focus, ten-foot layouts, and our recommended libraries. Then we'll dig into our latest AI builder tools and the workflows we use to migrate existing apps. You'll leave with your app running on TVs and a clear path to keep going.

Note:
- Please download the Vega SDK before the workshop: https://developer.amazon.com/docs/vega/0.24/install-vega-sdk
- Prior TV app experience is not required

React Native at Scale: Real Decisions, Trade-offs, and Hard Lessons

Panel

Every company runs React Native differently. Some rewrote an application from scratch, others integrated it in a brownfield scenario. Some tried other cross-platform solutions first and migrated to React Native, or vice versa.

In this panel we bring together engineering leaders from companies running React Native at scale: millions of users, complex use cases, and real-world constraints.

We'll dive into the decisions that actually mattered when shipping in production. How did React Native land in the organization in the first place? What did the first twelve months look like? What did they migrate to, or from, and why? And what would each team do differently today?

This is the panel where the polished conference talks meet the production trade-offs nobody blogs about.
