From Fragmentation to First App: COVESA’s Android Automotive Reference App

Android Automotive opens a new opportunity for mobile developers: apps can become part of the native in-car experience, not just mirrored from a phone. To make that opportunity easier to approach, the ecosystem needs clear examples, shared expectations, and practical starting points. In this session I will share how COVESA is working on an Android Automotive reference app initiative.
We will look at the current ecosystem, where developers, OEMs, suppliers, and platform teams need to align, and how a best-practice app can turn abstract requirements into a concrete first step. Attendees will leave with a clearer view of the opportunity, the ecosystem roles, and what a useful reference implementation should prove.
